Nhon Trach Bridge is a bridge connecting Nhon Trach District, Dong Nai Province with Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City, crossing the majestic Dong Nai River. This is part of the Component 1A project, under the Ring Road 3 project, and is expected to be operational before April 30, 2025.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

According to the plan, the Component 1A project of Tan Van \u2013 Nhon Trach section includes two packages: the connecting road and the bridge, stretching over 15.5 km with a road width of 120 m along the entire route. The starting point of the project is located on Provincial Road 25B, in Nhon Trach District, Dong Nai Province, while the ending point connects to the Ho Chi Minh City \u2013 Long Thanh \u2013 Dau Giay Expressway, in Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City.<\/p>\n

In the first phase, Nhon Trach Bridge will have four lanes and two mixed lanes. In the next phase, an additional bridge unit will be built downstream, ensuring 6 expressway lanes and 2 parallel lanes in both directions. The road connecting the two ends of the bridge is 15.077 km long and 67 m wide.<\/p>\n

Information about Nhon Trach bridge developer - Project Management Unit My Thuan<\/h2>\n

On February 3, in Hanoi, the Ministry of Transport (MOT) held an announcement ceremony for the Prime Minister's decision on the establishment of the Project Management Unit My Thuan (PMU My Thuan) and the decisions of the Minister of Transport to appoint the Board's leaders.<\/p>\n

Current status and construction progress of Nhon Trach bridge<\/h2>\n

According to the My Thuan Project Management Board under the Ministry of Transport, Nhon Trach Bridge, an important part of the Tan Van - Nhon Trach Component Project 1A, is being constructed ahead of schedule and is expected to close the first span in September 2024.<\/p>\n

As of August 2024, My Thuan Project Management Board said that the Nhon Trach Bridge Construction Package (Package CW1) implemented by Kumho E&C Company of Korea has achieved 80% cumulative progress. Of which, many important items have been completed, and Nhon Trach Bridge is expected to be completed on April 30, 2025, 4 months earlier than the original contract deadline.<\/p>\n

Regarding the construction of the 5.6 km long approach road at both ends of the bridge (Package CW2), a joint venture between Dongbu Corporation of Korea and VNCN E&C Construction and Engineering Investment Joint Stock Company of Vietnam is undertaking the construction. According to the contract, this part will be completed by mid-September 2025, and to date the cumulative progress has reached nearly 37%.<\/p>\n

Contractors are trying to speed up the construction progress by maintaining a \"3-shift, 4-shift\" work schedule, continuously without breaks during holidays and Tet to ensure the completion of the entire bridge and approach roads by April 30, 2025.<\/p>\n

Mr. Koo Ja Kyoung, representative of contractor Kumho E&C, said that to shorten the progress, the construction site is organizing three shifts throughout the day and night, working even on weekends and holidays. Currently, the weather in the South is in the rainy season, causing difficulties for the bridge construction process.<\/p>\n

In June 2024, the Ministry of Transport also submitted to the Prime Minister a proposal to approve the adjustment to increase the investment capital for component project 1A from VND 6,955.65 billion to VND 9,268.41 billion, adding an additional VND 2,300 billion.<\/p>\n

This additional investment is aimed at building another Nhon Trach 2 bridge similar to the current bridge, to widen the route. The implementation period is from 2025 to 2028. When completed, Nhon Trach bridge will be operated according to expressway standards with 8 lanes, including a separate lane for motorbikes.<\/p>\n

After crossing the bridge, motorbikes will move into a parallel lane separate from the main route of Ring Road 3, according to urban expressway standards.<\/p>\n

When completed, Nhon Trach 2 Bridge will make an important contribution to the completion of the Ring Road 3 system of Ho Chi Minh City, helping to shorten the distance from Dong Nai to Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong and Long An. At the same time, the project will promote the transport of goods, enhance trade exchange, separate traffic from a distance and reduce congestion on inner-city routes of Ho Chi Minh City.<\/p>\n
